Bastos Viegas is the main Portuguese producer and supplier of Non Active Medical Devices. The objective of the company is the production of articles with consistent high quality and based in European production.

The company products are in over 90 countries distributed by the 6 continents and cover a very significant part of the need of the national market.

In parallel, represents in Portugal many international brands of Medical Devices for the wholesale distribution in the national market.

The retail distribution is made under the registered brands Medical Express and Bel Express, in whose catalogues there are more than 10.000 references

Bastos Viegas, S.A., is a modern and efficient production unity, with a very wide product range and a quality standard recognized internationally.

Currently, the company employs about 360 persons in modern and functional permises, with a covered area of approx. 50.000 sq.m, implemented in a total area of 160.000 sq.m of land.
The company has several vertical production lines, as for example, gauze articles, drapes, plastic injection, and it also has conversion capacity of many other products, such as, non-woven, adhesives, sterilization materials, among others.

The company produces the most varied types of surgical sets, from the small ambulatory surgery to surgical draping sets, of catheterization, anesthesia, as well as big surgical sets for specific operations.

Bastos Viegas has a high capacity for packaging and sterilization by steam and ETO, applicable at all products of his own production.

The laboratory for quality control is completely equipped for all the company needs and all the products produced, being managed by wide experienced and qualified staff.

The company runs 3 automatic warehouses, with a total installed storage capacity of over 18.000 palettes/containers, for production components and finished products. This allows a very high efficiency in distribution and sales service.
